This past Thursday, some of our Agents were fortunate enough to go on a VIP tour of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. This was an amazing way to get an insider look at the newest themed land at Islands of Adventure. And now, I’m going to share what we learned with all of you in the coming weeks! From our entry into WWoHP from Jurassic Park to our culminating ride on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, keep it here for all of the amazing details, tips and tricks to visiting this extremely accurate depiction of Hogsmeade. By the way, did you know that the Jurassic Park land is actually based on the Michael Crichton novel and not the hit movie? How is that for a fun insider fact?
So before we get into the details of different aspects of the WWoHP, I thought I would start with a tip. When booking a Universal Orlando vacation with me, guests always want to go visit this section of the park early in the day so that they don’t miss anything. Well, if you are staying onsite at one of the Universal Resorts, I do recommend that you spend your early admission hour at the WWoHP as there will be less crowds at this time. However, once that hour is up, either go have your pre-reserved breakfast at Three Broomsticks if you have a Harry Potter Package OR go to another section of the park. Do not stay in the WWoHP once the park has opened for general admission or if you are entering the park at general admission time. Why? Because this is the first place the crowds will head. Instead, visit the rest of Islands of Adventure or even Universal Studios if you have a Park-to-Park ticket. Enjoy the day.
Then in the late afternoon/early evening, head on over or head back over to the WWoHP. You will find the crowds significantly decreased at this time. Our Agent VIP tour took place at about 6:30-7pm and we breezed right through Hogsmeade. Even if we had not had the tour guides, we would have been able to breeze right through. There was no line at Flight of the Hippogriff when we went on AND the line at Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey was less than 30 minutes! Seriously! Guests were walking right though the castle. And since this is a cooler time of day, you can also avoid waiting in the outside portion of the queue in the scorching Florida heat. So you can go on the signature Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride and then round out your day with some shopping and/or a shepherds pie and butterbeer at Three Broomsticks. Yum!
