There are four different play areas at Islands of Adventure. As a mom who takes her two young boys into theme parks every week, the most important question is, “Is there a place for my kids to run off their energy?” You have come to the right place. Islands of Adventure does a wonderful job of ensuring that your children have several different places they can run off steam. In order to have a relaxing vacation, it is important to allow small children to run and play. There are four great play areas at Islands of Adventure guaranteed to make every child happy.
Camp Jurassic is the best playground for parents with school-aged children because most of the playground is built with mesh and cargo nets so you can see your children at all times. It is fashioned after the Jurassic Park movies with dinosaur bones laid around the cargo nets and tree houses. There are also water guns that you can use to shoot each other from the tree tops. Camp Jurassic has caves and lava pits for children to explore. This playground is best suited for children between the ages of 3 years old and 10 years old. There is plenty of seating for parents and even an ice cream shop nearby to grab a sweet treat while watching your kids play.
Jurassic Park Discovery Center is an indoor area that is set up more as a museum than a playground. When I walk in, it reminds me of the visitors center in the first Jurassic Park movie. You can even watch dinosaurs hatch! There are many different types of dinosaur statues, so if your children are crazy about dinosaurs, they will love this place. In the Discovery center, your children can play interactive games and learn more about each dinosaur and how they move and eat. It really is educational as well as fun
If I Ran the Zoo is a playground built after Dr. Seuss and his beloved books. This playground is most loved by children who are preschoolers. There are small tunnels to climb through and many toys you can sit in and pretend to drive. I love that there are hedges and pathways covered with Dr. Seuss sayings. There is a small water area as well with a sprinkler so you might want to bring a change of clothes.
Me Ship, The Olive is a playground fashioned after Popeye’s ship. Children can climb up cargo nets and go down slides. There are also several Captain’s wheels that children can turn. It does feel like you are on a real ship. This is most loved by kids in early elementary school.
So, Islands of Adventure is a wonderful park for children as it has so many places for them to play. To have a nice relaxing vacation, make sure you give your kids a break every few hours to go run off energy.
