Hogwarts Castle is easily the best part of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. However, many times you either rush through Hogwarts to get to the Forbidden Journey ride or you’re waiting eons in the line and get to a point where you don’t care about any stinking castle.
There’s a solution to this dilemma! Universal offers a tour of Hogwarts Castle. A cast member will take you through the castle using the handicapped access queue line and give you ample opportunity to look and take pictures (I get mixed answers when I ask about video — some say yes, some say no — I’m more of a “beg for forgiveness” person).
There’s no set schedule for the Hogwarts tours. You just have to ask one of the cast members at the castle. I’ve seen people turned away to come back at a set time and people that get right in, that instant. Really depends.
One other tip: Put your bags away in a locker! This is not required for the Hogwarts tour, but I’ve known many people that get to the end of the tour and the cast member says, “Wanna ride?” If you have bag, you can’t! Don’t make that mistake, just put it away before the tour. There is no guarantee of a ride on Forbidden Journey! Just do like the Boy Scouts and “Be Prepared!”
Of course, you could always just watch our video of the queue line, too. 🙂
