No trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is complete without a visit to its signature attraction, Hogwarts Castle, and the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride located within. This is also a great spot for a family/group photo to take home and frame!
A great place to take a photo is on the wooden bridge between the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Jurassic Park, just outside Hogwarts Castle. Sometimes you’ll even catch an official Islands of Adventure photographer standing on the bridge as well so be sure to ask him/her to take a photo with your camera as well!
Once you’re ready to enter Hogwarts Castle, you will need to put away all of your bags and other loose items in a locker. After walking through the castle, you will arrive at the ride.
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is a thrill ride that has both sudden and rapid movements so you don’t want to lose anything valuable. In addition to the movements, this ride can be scary at times as well, particularly for younger children.
There is a 48″ height requirement too. If you are concerned about your child going on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey or if you don’t want to ride yourself, you can still visit Hogwarts Castle! That’s right! Hogwarts Castle is available for tours as well.
Simply ask a Hogwarts Castle cast member when the next tour is and schedule accordingly. Hogwarts Castle is an attraction in and of itself. It’s almost like a bonus portion of the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride or vice versa, depending on how you look at it:)
This way you won’t miss out on this incredible ode to the Harry Potter series featuring a griffin statute, Dumbledore’s office, a scene from the Dark Arts classroom, and more. Hint: be sure to pay close attention to detail when walking through the castle. You never know what may be part of the experience. Enjoy!
