A while back, the Harry Potter books finally came to the Amazon Kindle and the Barnes & Noble Nook. Of course, you have to buy them through the Pottermore site, but you can still (finally) get the entire Harry Potter series in Kindle books and on the Nook!
Amazon announced that you will also be able to get the Harry Potter books for FREE! Eligible Amazon Prime members can borrow Harry Potter Kindle books for free, directly from a Kindle device.
These Kindle books can also be purchased at the Pottermore Shop. Like all Kindle books, books purchased from Pottermore Shop are “Buy Once, Read Everywhere” and will be delivered to your Kindle or free Kindle reading apps.
You get to borrow one Harry Potter book a month for free on your Kindle device (not Kindle apps) if you are a member of Amazon Prime, so this is a big addition to what’s available.
The list of Kindle Owners’ Lending Library now contains more than 145,000 Kindle books, including more than 100 current and former New York Times Best Sellers.
This deal is currently exclusive to the Kindle and Amazon. You cannot “borrow” the Nook versions of the Harry Potter books, at this time. Amazon no doubt paid a pretty penny for its exclusive license from J. K. Rowling’s Pottermore to make this possible.
“We’re absolutely delighted to have reached this agreement with Pottermore,” Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said today in a statement. “This is the kind of significant investment in the Kindle ecosystem that we’ll continue to make on behalf of Kindle owners.”
