Harry Potter Park Weddings

We've had quite a few readers ask us about weddings at the new Harry Potter park in Islands of Adventure.

Are there going to be weddings in Wizarding World of Harry Potter?

We're getting married next summer.  We're huge Harry Potter fans and we'd like to have a Wizarding World wedding.  Is this going to be possible?

So, we checked with our sources and so far have ended up with a lot of "well, not right now," "maybe down the road," "we're working on it" type answers.

As with all things Harry Potter, we understand that there's some permission issues with JK Rowling-Scholastic-Warner Bros.-Universal Orlando -- yada, yada, yada.

Ultimately, the most concrete answer we've received has been, "There won't be any weddings in Wizarding World of Harry Potter for at least the next year."

With the popularity of Disney weddings, with options to have weddings all over the Disney resorts, we expect this to be something that Universal works very hard on bringing to life.  Who wouldn't want a wizard and witch themed wedding in the heart of Hogsmeade Village?

    I plan to wed in about 3-4 years so I hope that by that time the problems are solve! I want it to be at Hogwarts!

    My sister and brother-in-law (currently in their mid-60′s) are only married 6 years and each year they renew their wedding vows.  It’s an excuse for a vacation, like we had “Elvis” renew their vows in Las Vegas.  As extreme HP fans, they would love to renew their wedding vows here too.  Who do we contact to arrange it???

    We’ve found that the best way to go about having a Harry Potter wedding at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is to just show up and ask Universal employees.  It’s really more of a beg for forgiveness approach.  They will find a way for you to get it done.  Our friends were going to get married in Ollivander’s (they would let them get married in there, but no filming, so they opted for in front of Hogwarts).  All they did was ask someone and Universal found a way.
