Flight of the Hippogriff Ride POV

Flight of the Hippogriff Ride POV

by on September 9, 2010

The Flight of the Hippogriff ride at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park is a re-theming of the original Flying Unicorn ride in Lost Continent.  The designers took the elements of the hippogriff from the Harry Potter books and applied them to the roller coaster, including a huge hippogriff nest.

The nest is one of the coolest parts of the ride/queue line, as is Hagrid's Hut -- you pass by it on your way through the line.  The ride itself was originally conceived as a "kids coaster," but I find it quite fun as an adult, too.  You get a great overhead view of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter from the initial climb of the coaster and some good views of Hagrid's Hut and Filch's Emporium.  Also, it's usually one of the shortest lines in the Harry Potter park!

Here's a point-of-view (POV) video of the ride from one of our trips.
