As you prepare yourself to take on this most dangerous task in the Triwizard Tournament you will see tournament banners advertising your favorite champions and the Weasley's flying Ford Anglia crashed on the ground. Make your way into the

Dragon Challenge

champions tent and get a glimpse of the Triwizard Cup glowing upon the top of a large pedestal. From there travel through a hall illuminated with candles and past a simple wooden wall where you can hear the sounds of the dragons roaring and growling behind ready to take on their next challenger.

Choose your dragon!

Prepare to take on the red aggressive Chinese Fireball or the blue ferocious Hungarian Horntail. This two minute and twenty-five second flight includes a zero-g roll, a cobra roll, two corkscrews and 2 vertical loops. This is the only dueling inverted roller coaster in the world and you will feel the excitement and thrill as your loop and twist during this intertwining roller coaster chase across the sky. The two high-speed dragons are each a completely different ride with a top speed of sixty-three miles per hour for the Fireball and fifty-seven miles per hour for the Horntail. Both coasters are adjacent up the lift hills but then traverse into two completely unique courses. When the trans are loaded with their challengers they are weighed during dispatch in an order to properly time the three near-miss experiences between the two trains. The two dragons will come just eighteen inches from its opponent.  

Dragon Layout

The Dragon Challenge Roller Coasterwas constructed by Bolliger & Mabillard of Switzerland and was officially opened as part of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in June of 2010. This ride is a Universal express plus participating attraction. Before its grand opening in Harry Potter the Dragon Challenge was formally known as the Dueling Dragons located in the Lost Continent area of Islands of Adventures with the two coasters named Fire and Ice. Dueling Dragons opened on May 28, 1999 during the grand opening of the park.
